Hi!

Luge:
For Australia Hannah Campbell-Pegg will take part for the woman competition.
For Italy Armin Zöggeler will take part for the men competition. I know Armin Zöggeler due to some summer-holiday in Trentino-Alto Adige (Italy) in the early 1990s. We lived at his family. Our room was near the room of Armin. It is nice there in Trentino-Alto Adige.

Hi,

the most chances for an Olympic Medal for our Aussies are in the sports: Snowboard, Shorttrack und Freestyle-Skiing. In all the other ones we do not have special illusions, because they will get last positions. But we may see some surprises.

Hi,

in Europe you may see the Games at Eurosport in different languages via satellite in the free-TV.

In parts of Europe and in German language you may see the Games at:
  • ARD
    ARD HD
    ZDF
    ZDF HD
    Eins Festival
    ZDF Info
Eurosport HD (Pay-TV, different countries in Europe)
Local free-TV stations will broadcast in you prefered language.

I you receive the UK-beam of Astra2 at 28.2°E in your region, than you may be interested in the BBC broadcasts of "BBC interactive". I do not know if the BBC HD channel broadcasts. This are the technical data to receive via satellite:
Freq.: 12441 Vertikal / Transponder 38 / Format: DVB-S / Symbolrate: 27500 2/3
Your receiver will list this 7 channels Stream-0 to Stream-6 as data and you must change them to TV.

More information about the UK broadcasts at Lyngsat:
http://www.lyngsat.com/astra2b.html

The German public TV stations ARD and ZDF will broadcast this Games for the very first time in HD (720p).

Like every big event there will be lot of satellite-traffic for all the TV station broadcasts and to distribute the signal from Vancouver all over the world. Lots of the signals will be crypted but there might be someone to see free.

More international information about live-satellite-feeds at Satelliweb:

Hi,

as the Forummaster I also have the responsibility to bring sad news.

We mourn together with his family and his friends.
The 21 year old Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritaschwili had an accident at the training on the ice and died. We wish his family and his friends all our cordial condolence.

Consciously I wrote this without a link into the internet news magazines.
